A Day at Marta’s Creative Corner
Every day is a little different, but we follow a gentle routine so children feel safe and know what to expect. Here’s an example of what a typical day at Marta’s Creative Corner in Harlow might look like
Morning Welcome

Drop-off & settling in
Children arrive, hang up their things and say goodbye to parents. There’s time for a cuddle, a chat and some free play so everyone can settle in at their own pace.
Morning play & activities

Play-based learning and creative time
Once everyone is settled, we move into a mix of activities such as:
– arts and crafts
– small world and construction play
– sensory trays and simple games
– music, singing and movement
I plan activities around the children’s interests and stage of development, following the EYFS so they learn through play.
Snack & fresh air

Snack and outdoor time
We pause for a drink and snack, then, when the weather allows, we head outdoors – into the garden, for a walk or to a local park. Fresh air, movement and exploring nature are an important part of our day.
Lunchtime & quiet time

Lunch and rest
Lunchtime is relaxed and social, with plenty of chance to chat and practise good manners. After eating, younger children may have a nap or quiet time, while older ones enjoy calm activities like puzzles, books or drawing.
Afternoon play

More play and child-led choices
In the early afternoon, children choose from a range of toys and activities, revisit favourites from the morning or try something new. This might be more creative work, role play, building or simple learning games.
Home time

Getting ready for home
As pick-up time approaches, we tidy up together and talk about what we’ve done that day. I share any little moments or milestones with you, so you feel connected to your child’s time here.
