Providing a nurturing environment for your child's growth.
Frequently Asked
Questions Answered
What childcare services do you provide?
At Marta’s Creative Corner, I offer home-from-home childcare for babies and young children in Harlow. Days include play-based learning, creative activities, outdoor time and quiet moments for rest. I aim to provide flexible, personal care that supports both children and working parents.
How do you ensure safety measures?
Safety is my top priority. My home is set up with children in mind, and I carry out regular checks to keep the environment safe and secure. I follow Ofsted and Early Years guidelines, keep my first aid and safeguarding training up to date, and always supervise children closely.
What age groups do you cater to?
I care for babies and children in the early years age range (from 0 up to school age). If you are unsure whether I can take your child’s age group or hours, please get in touch and I’ll be happy to talk it through.
What Are Your Opening Hours?
I am open Monday to Thursday, 9:30am–2:30pm, term time only.
These hours work well for families who need shorter days or care to fit around nursery and school runs.
How many children do you care for at one time?
As a childminder, I look after a small number of children at any one time. This means I can give each child plenty of attention and really get to know them. It also helps create a calm, family-style atmosphere where children feel safe and settled.
How do you help children settle in?
I know starting with a new childminder can be a big change. I offer settling-in sessions so your child can get to know me, the home and the other children at their own pace. We will talk about your child’s likes, dislikes, routines and comfort items, so I can make them feel as safe and relaxed as possible.
What is your approach to learning and play?
I follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and plan activities that support learning through play. This includes things like arts and crafts, stories, music, simple games, puzzles, outdoor play and plenty of talking and listening. Children are encouraged to explore, ask questions and try new things, while still feeling supported and secure.
How do you keep parents updated?
I believe in open, honest communication. I’m happy to chat at drop-off and pick-up, and I can share updates about your child’s day, things they enjoyed and any little milestones. If you prefer, we can also keep in touch by message or email for photos and quick notes.
Do you accept funding or childcare schemes?
As an Ofsted registered childminder, I can work with you to use any funding or childcare schemes you may be eligible for, such as funded hours or Tax-Free Childcare. Every family’s situation is different, so the best thing is to get in touch and we can talk through your options together.
Do you have pets at home?
Yes, we are an animal-loving family and have two dogs, rabbits and a small hamster. All animals are carefully supervised around the children, and good hygiene is always followed. Many children enjoy helping with simple tasks like filling water bowls or watching the pets play, which can be a lovely, gentle learning experience.
What should my child bring each day?
Most families send a bag with spare clothes, any nappies or wipes they prefer, comfort items (like a favourite toy or blanket) and, if needed, any special creams or medication with written permission. We will talk through all of this during your first visit so you know exactly what to pack.
